I am the product of a military family, having lived in France, Japan and several of these United States (I attended 10 different schools) before graduating high school. I earned a college degree and attended a year of law school, but none of that really prepared me for where I am today.
Before coming online almost 6 years ago in search of earning income, I was a Help Desk Support Specialist who loved the job activities, but not the J-O-B. When I lost my J-O-B in October 2002, I turned to the Internet because nothing I did offline seemed to work in terms of finding reasonable employment.
While it has been a total 'faith walk', I can honestly say that despite the hardships, I absolutely prefer and LOVE being online! ALL of my time is spent online, learning, reading, marketing, promoting, and meeting and interacting with others who are either in business for themselves or seeking information about marketing online.
I enjoy helping people, especially those who are new to internet marketing, who want to learn how to more effectively advertise their business, and/or utilize their computer and the various software programs they have, but may not know how to use. I did not seek out Network Marketing . . . I 'fell' into it in April, 2003, 6 months after losing my 'good' job.
However, I have always wanted to work from home, I just wasn't very clear about what I wanted to do. The Network Marketing industry has taught me SO much about myself and life in general.
And of course, I absolutely love working from home because I am available for my Mom, who recently suffered a mild stroke. I can't imagine working a full-time job and caring for her at the same time.
I make my own schedule and decide what I will work on and with whom I will work. The bonus is that I'm not stressed out like many people who are still caught in the 'rat race', trying to make a buck and pay their bills.
Network Marketing has truly opened doors I didn't know existed and I'm so fortunate to be a member of this industry. I just wish more people would seriously ask themselves: When the 'job' is gone, or health is affected, how else will I earn an income?
Make Your OWN Greeting Card Service
When my son was going through Marine Corps Recruit Training last year, I learned that letter writing was the only form of communication we were allowed to do while he was away for four months.
I knew that writing him a letter EVERY day (as was suggested by other parents who had already endured boot camp) was going to be a challenge for me. And the idea of him writing to me was . . . well, I knew that would be another new experience for him to "adapt, adjust and overcome."
Then I found a way to send real greeting cards online, even though I've never been a card person. I had always thought it took too much time to go to the store to choose cards, and felt they were too expensive.
But this online service made things really easy and I started sending my son cards almost every day. And when he graduated, I found that he had saved all of those cards! That made me feel really great because we had had a strained relationship before he left. Those cards made a huge difference and I believe they healed our relationship.
I've been using this online service for a year and now I send holiday cards, never forget birthdays anymore, and also use this service to keep track of all the contacts for my business.
